The cities in France are gorgeous. A lot of historic buildings, great museums, green parks and the food is to die for. Which cities in France should be on top of your bucket list? I’ll tell you all about it in this article.
In the southwest of France, you’ll find the city of Bordeaux. This city looks like a smaller version of Paris, but without the tourists. Bordeaux is famous for its wine, so make sure to go on a wine-tour. The city itself is perfect for getting lost, the old buildings are amazing to see and there will be a nice surprise at every corner. Did you know there is a colosseum hidden in Bordeaux? Also, try the pastry called canelé, it’s delicious!
Nice is in the south of France in the area called the Côte d’Azur. Expect a lot of beaches and the most beautiful sea you will ever sea. The city is really nice, with a viewpoint on a hill looking over the boulevard. In this city, you’ll find some really nice restaurants. If you have some spare time, Nice is a perfect base for visiting other cities in the area. It’s only a short train ride to Monte Carlo (Monaco), Ventimiglia (Italy) and Cannes.
You can find the city of Lille all the way in the north of France, close to the border of Belgium. If you like museums and good food, this is the place for you to go. It’s one of the cheapest cities in France, perfect if you’re on a budget. Close to Lille, you will find some of the best museums in France, like Palais des Beaux-Arts (with paintings by Rubens, Monet, and Picasso) and La Piscine (located in a swimming pool from 1932).
You simply cannot visit France and skip Paris. This city is so incredibly beautiful! I’ve been to Paris at least four times, and I’m still impressed by the beauty of this city. Every single time I discover a new part of town, it is crazy big. My favorite thing to do in Paris? Walk along the river Seine, visit the museums en enjoy the view from the Sacre Coeur.
